Brian Churchill

Brian Churchill

Producer, Director, Digital Cinematographer

Brian Churchill has been producing and directing most of his life.  His love for filmmaking started before the age of 10, when he picked up his first book on movies.  After that, he was hooked.  By age 12 he shot his very first film, an animated short, on a wind-up Bell & Howell 8mm camera.  From there he continued to grow, directing numerous other projects.  In 1988 he majored in Film/Video Communications at the University of Memphis and freelanced on the side, producing local commercials, corporate projects, and music videos.  Then in 1992 he met his first business partner, and together they opened his first production company, Studio M Productions.

It was only a matter of time before Brian branched out on his own.  Today, he is President of Churchill Studios, Inc., one of the very first High Definition Production & Post facilities in the region.  He’s produced over 1,000 projects for all kinds of clients like Verity Records, E! Entertainment and Danver’s Restaurants. Brian has won many professional awards as well, including over 40 Telly Awards for excellence in broadcast television. In addition to being an accomplished editor, producer and director, Brian remains a dedicated filmmaker and active supporter of the local film scene: He founded Grade One Entertainment and the “By No Other Name” film project in early 2000, Fellow Producer of Old School Picture’s Indie Memphis winner “Act One,” Creator of the infamous “Duck and Cow” humourous series, and now Producer and Director of the Faith-Based “Wood’s End” project, currently in development.
